Hello WT&T.com Forum, new member from Alaska.

Somewhat retired from aluminum boat building then 2nd stint as oil and gas automation contractor; still (semi-) actively building in welded aluminum. Current project 34' offshore (Prince William Sound, AK) live aboard, with a couple smaller boats in the design phase.

I use an OTC TIG gun, powered by a Miller Dynasty 300 D and have begun more detailed exploration of the TIG pulse welding beads in a wide variety of applications and I'm interested in suggesting a series of related videos to the Forum; to see if Jody finds the appeal wide enough to consider a series of videos helping to quantify the relative effects of the various wave forms and relations between the arc controls associated with pulsed TIG?

Now to use the search features to explore past discussions of wave forms already posted.

Cheers,
Kevin Morin

Welcome. Lately I haven't seen Jody make any videos of a more technical nature, such as what you're suggesting. Would be cool.

Hello Kevin,

I have followed several of your post over the years on boat building platforms and thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge. Would you ever consider consulting (ie telephone call from a novice) on a small craft aluminum project. My inexperience is giving me trouble in selecting appropriate thickness for aluminum for a small sail driven aluminum rowcruiser. I have adapted several weight saving principles from light aviation, dimples, etc, but I need practical experience. Thanks,

Adam
