Hello everyone!
I´m Simon and I´m now trying to intoduce myself...
I´m living and working in Munich - Germany mostly since my whole live. I was born here and I´m quite happy here. I´m self employed, buiding hydroturbines in different styles in the so called micro-hydro sector, say up to a power rate of 20kW.
I´m precision engineer so welding is just one part of my experiance! Most time I weld MIG/MAG but for some reasons, on pressure pipes, nozzles and turbine wheels, TIG (here, we call it WIG) is the better welding process. I have experiance in TIG welding but especially for this process, I have to learn a lot!
I hope I can find information I need and help some other with tip´s and tricks in other welding stuff.
Best Regards
Simon
PS: Jody, there are some very good video´s out there in youtube, I love to see more!

Welcome, Simon!
I've always been interested in micro-hydro, though I've now moved to flat lands where it's not practical. I'm interested in ways to adapt MH ideas to small-scale boilers. I'm looking at combining small-scale steam power with distillation for clean water (I'm in hurrricane country, where clean water can be an issue in a disaster).
I'll be interested in your posts, for sure!

Willkommen und ich bin auch neu hier im Verein der Schweisser. Du kannst hier ne Weile lesen und alles was Du verstehst is ehrliche infomation, ohne quatsh.
I am made in Germany as well, all be is in the northern part called Ostfriesland Now live in South Carolina and boy its a learning curve all be it downward. I'll sleep better, once I know what this NUMBER drill thing is all about and why sheet metal is not just called by size in mm or fractions of inches and why metals are not classed by contents of their components.
I have a lot to learn.
By the way, Anyone of you know the American equivalent of (AL Mg4) ??
