Hi Everyone,

After MANY years i am finally going to have an area I can weld in. Right now all I have is my dad's Lincoln Arc Welder, it is very old but in good shape. He taught me the basics of stick welding but that was more than 30 years ago, so I am really starting over. I want to add a new Welder (a Mig or Tig) as part of my garage renovation (it is a small two car that I get just over half of - the wife has to be able to park inside of course).

I want to move from old cars to restoring old motorcycles. I also want to be able to weld Aluminum and Stainless. I am by no means rich, but I have enough saved for a decent machine I think. I have my eyes set on a Millermatic 200 with Mig to begin with. I hope I can become a worthy contributor to the great resource!

Welcome to the forum. And congrats on finally having a shop area. Now, if you can convince your wife to get a Smart car, you'll have more shop room. :D

Welcome to the forum, bigfoot! Before you purchase welders, ask the members out here what their experiences are with the particular equipment. Folks out here are most helpful! You will learn a lot; I know, because I have learned a lot!
