Hey there.

Hey,

I am from Ontario Canada. Started out as a cook/chef from the ages of 16-26, but then some allergies popped up that made it hard to work in high end/good paying facilities. So I took the plunge and got second career training in welding. I attended a school in Central Ontario for 10 weeks, and at the time I received the highest marks for the entire schools run of 20 years (I haven't been back in a while to see if my record holds...). I left school with about 10 tickets for the 4 major processes when 95% of the students were only leaving with 3-5. I just started looking for work when my fathers electrical company got really busy and he needed extra hands. Being the good son I put my goals on the back burner and went to help him. Now I am a registered Electrical Apprentice and heading off to school for that. I still weld, as we make custom light posts, dock plug posts and just about any custom electrical mounts that we come across in our "cottage/residential" scope of work. I am trying to get more to my original goal welding side projects and getting my own welding "studio" set up. See yall on the field. CJ~ SIghts

Welcome to the forum! Good on ya for getting the certs, and now the electrical cert. I worked for my Dad, and some of my best memories are from those years. I hope you're able to keep up with the welding.

Get Coldmans opinion but that sounds like the basics of a good Refrigeration Tech.

That would be another apprenticeship...
I see two great opportunities:
Food factory maintenance crew
Equip manufacture/fab that also requires wiring up.
Very interesting and useful skillset
