Howdy,

I am an older guy more familiar with woodworking but since my dad passed I have been slowly moving stuff from his old shop to mine and last week wired up his old stick welder. (My dad was a carpenter and cabinet maker who loved working with machinery as a hobby.) I want to try my hand at the craft because I think it is a useful skill that is practical and fun. Least ways I have fun when I make useful things. I think that is what my dad liked about it.

I have been watching Jody’s YouTube videos for awhile now at the suggestion of one of my friends (TIG welder) and I found real value in them. Great content related in a personable way. I am happy he started Welding Tips & Tricks (it was also some of the last things my dad and I did together).

By the way, the welder I wired up is an old P & H Model TR 181. I know it’s not modern but I still have a piece of my dad in it. [emoji846]
