Welding noob

Okay I'm a total welding noob so this should produce some hilarity. I'm a surgeon with a soldering iron, we'll see how this welding goes. First projects I need to make a stand for a 1,100 pound metal lathe and 1,000 pound milling machine. Will include some sheet metal work.

not enough info to make any suggestions as far as welding goes. Submit some drawings of the stands, or supports for the mill and lathe, and you should get lots of good info....... good luck, ron
