Hello everyone!
I'm relatively new to welding in general, even though my father (Braehill) has been welding since before I was an idea. In the last year or so I have gradually become more and more interested. I have spent some time behind the tig torch as well as the mig gun, but after a few lessons here and there or opening the garage man door to be blinded, I have a better grasp on things. I can make things stick, but I'm still green to the trade. I have found out that you should practice to feed your filler rod before you almost melt you glove to your finger. I've also learned that your tungsten welds better for you if your arc isn't snuffed out buried in your puddle. Like I say, I have an idea, I have an interest, and I have a welder. I occasionally weld projects like repairing parts and pieces of the steel flatbed on my truck. Customization is easily achievable with a welder lol.

Welcome to the forum! Your dad an brother are well known and respected here and we look forward to your input as well. Sounds like you were trained at The School of Hard Knocks. Or Greiners Garage.
Lets see some of your projects.

Sam,
I wondered about that. Must be a imposter trying to ride on the coat tails of your fathers reputable name. Notice how she didn't even mention her brother. What a shame. I mean, I know she is the black sheep of the family but to disown you in public, that's harsh. Gotta love family. ;)

I don't see anything in that post that's gender specific, it could be your brother or your sister. They both have a little time in with a welder. Alright, the flatbed reference gives it away. His name's Cole.

Brother... Sister...

I've lived and worked in Amish country. I'm not sure the distinction is important in that culture until the dowry comes due...

Even then it's unimportant in my household, the little bastards have eating all the money I might have saved for their sister's dowry. :) My only hope is that those two learn to weld so they can support me when I'm old and feeble, and that's coming sooner than later.

Len,
You might want to start that second job

Jonathan,
You're not giving me much hope and those two much credit. I also was hoping that they would learn a few things here since they never seem to listen to me.

Having them on this forum limits my chances of talking about them without them knowing it now, this might have been a bad idea. :) At least now I have all of you to help me referee when they start bickering.

Len,
To be quite honest, I believe Sam is a great son to you and your wife, good brother and has become quite a good friend. He is always willing to help out and is very knowledgeable in his field. Sam seems to pick up fast to me. I don't think you have anything to worry about. I actually like having more members here that I know personally, it makes this place that much better.

I have this horrible image of brotherly pranks....

Like Christmas morning, Sam finding a lump of Cole in his stocking...

Just because they're good guys doesn't mean I can stop myself from busting their stones, it's not our nature. We tease each other and are the first to point out each other's mistakes, but they come from a family that easily and openly tells each other "I love you" everyday. It's nice to hear from people that know all my children to say what pleasant and well mannered (a little potty mouthed) adults they've become.

Steve, he told me I could have that stocking, I thought that meant I could do with it what I wanted

That might be the understatement of the century.

Steve,

It's a good thing that stocking was left footed, the odds of me needing it again are slim to none!

Genious? Madness?

A fine line, indeed!

Hypoxia? Uncontrollable laughter?

Much narrower line...

Hey man, if you thought me and my dad were funny before, just wait. Cole is definitely the quickest of the lot when it comes to humor, however both myself and my father have a deeper running wit than he.
