Hi all, I am a retired General Motors guy. I worked there on the assembly line, block machine floor, diemaker, weld engineer(mechanical). I have been welding most of my life. I retired for 7 years and then purchased a business. I am currently on the R&D team for our parent company. So I am redesigning equipment to improve use, improve efficiency, reduce waste, and generally innovate.

While I did run a MIG process certification program and train repair welders for auto body repair, my main focus was keeping some of our 320 robots working properly. I learn something almost every day.

I am currently re-learning (reteaching old hands) TIG welding so I can weld aluminum equipment for my business.

I appreciate the many years of experience found on forums like this and look forward to soaking up ideas.
