question about plasma cutting

I'm new to plasma cutting. I've found very little in the way of recommendations for settings.
Is the air pressure important for cutting or for cooling the torch or both? What air pressure works best?
Has anyone found an inexpensive source for S45 torch consumables? How often would a person expect to change the cup?

It all depends on the type and thickness of metal you're cutting and the size of your machine (plasma cutter)

I think the term is "kerf". That may help your search.
