Oxygen tanks

I am a total newbie.

I got one of these small torch kitshttps://www.lowes.com/pd/BernzOmatic-Cu ... t/50126405 It is perfect for what I have to do. I cannot afford a $400 Oxy/Ace rig.

As you well know, with those little kits, those O2 tanks are empty in less than 10 minutes.

So I've heard of people connecting different oxygen sources and making it work.

Somebody in my town is selling small O2 tanks: https://grandrapids.craigslist.org/hab/ ... 23785.html

Is there a way to use these for supplying O2 for gas brazing? If so, what would I need?

Thanks.

It looks to me as though the gas lines will only fit into those style tanks. But I assume if you were to get a gas flow regulator for the oxygen tanks and an adapter, if even available, for your torch lines then you could get the same oxygen levels in your torch and it would work.

But, I don't think there is an adapter like that for those fittings. I could be wrong.

Other than that, it's just about buying more of those style tanks from Lowes or other suppliers if they have them. Maybe they even have larger versions of those tanks.

Those are medical oxygen tanks. They have very different connections. Not sure of the pressure in the medical tanks but you will need some kind of regulator assembly. I used to have one of the small sets you linked to. I think it has internal oriface regulators. So it’s going to cost you more to adapt than to buy new. If you need that small size I’d recommend looking for a used micro jewelers torch.
