I came across an old wooden crate that is still sealed shut with the original metal banding. It's a 50lb crate of them and from what I can figure it's from the 1940s.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Would ir affect the value if I opened it?

Are the rods any good anymore?

Not sure if it is worth anything or not but thought it looked cool either way.
