I have been using 6013 with this machine but I'm most familiar with 7018 on a Maxstar250 at work. The 6013 runs ok, but I guess I'm just not used to a different rod.
I normally just try to run the 6013 like I do with 7018, but with marginal success.... How would you guys run a 6010 on an inverter?
I am wondering how a 6010 would run on this inverter. Do they run well? I want to use them for basic welding, trailers and home fabrication.
BTW... not a welder. I'm a pipefitter and bought the machine for home use and also to learn the struggles of my welders so I can adjust my fit-ups accordingly. I feel like I should know what it looks like through the lens so I know what my welders are talking about when they encounter problems on fit up.
Also, this is on 1/8 to 1/4 steel, whatever scrap i can find to burn on.

I've never seen a 160sth. I do remember reading something about them, but can't remember if they can handle 6010 or not.
I have a PA-200, it runs 6010 just fine, once you learn to hold a very close arc length. It really likes ESAB's 10P-Plus. I also have a PA-300, it will stack 6010 fantastically. It likes Lincoln's 5P-Plus, and ESAB's 10P.
If you can't get your 160sth to run 6010, try some Hobart 335A 6011.

My PowerArc 200 has a separate electrode port for 6010. Something about built in higher arc force or some crap. Haven't tried it. 6010/11 just arnt that common over here.

Hi all,
Ive tried 6010 5p on 3 separate everlast machines,pa 140,210ext,and 255 ext.Didnt like the results.Lots of sticking on start-ups,arc would go out trying to whip and pause, seemed critical with arc length. The 255 ext has a setting for 6010 (LED) and arc force and hot start that's adjustable. The 255 worked better than the 210 ext and little pa 140,but not great.I have thermal arc 161 stick/lift tig inverter that runs 6010 great. The TA 161 runs everything great on 115volt or 230 volt.3/32 or 1/8th.SOOO, an inverter can run 6010 electrodes, just depends on which one I guess?

I just had a chance to run 6010 on the AHP200X and it runs very nicely. A couple sticks on startup but after that really smooth with varying arc length too. I ran 3/32 @45 amps and 1/8@ 75 amps. Performance was even better moving towards the middle of the amp range.
Update: compared it to my Powertig 185 (very sensitive to arc length) , not even in the same class. The AHP is so far superior with 6010. I would definitely say this is a great machine if you have a need for that rod.
