What is the most comfortable head gear for the pipeliner?

Hi Everyone

Been wearing my pipeliner with the Arc One Shade 11 auto darkening lens at work the last couple of weeks
Everything has been working out very well!

One small problem; the head gear is as uncomfortable as it gets - I think a Ratchet Strap would be easier on my skull than the factory provided bracket!

What are you guys all using? What do you guys like?
I do like The head gear in my 9100xx - is pretty comfy. Does anyone know if this is available all by itself?

Adam,
One of the beauties of the Pipeliner is it's simplicity. The head gear is made that way so you can lay on your back and not have the ratchet strap digging into the back of your head. You can get the ratchet headgear and put on it, as some come with it. It's just a simple, old school headgear, and not much more comfortable than the rubber band though.

I've customized the Harbor Freight helmets before to accept the Miller Elite headgear, takes a little messing around to get it right.

That's true - it is easy to lie flat on the back of your head and not have that knob digging into your skull

Most of my work is done with my head off to the side

I use surgical tubing to replace the oem rubber strap. Never needs re-adjusting and as the stock stuff it goes on with one hand like a ball cap.

I was reading this thread and just thought if anyone is in a pinch for surgical tubing, most any store now carries those exercise resistance band deals with the handles (sporting goods, guality drug stores, etc) in the areas with food supplements. You can ditch the handles and use the tubing. It's also available in small rolls from medical supply stores.

Just using my brain late in the day.

Check the sporting goods section of Wal-Mart, for replacement bands for the "Wrist-Rocket" slingshot. This, too, is surgical tubing.
