i got my root down good using 1/8 60105p+..3/32 gap & land at around 85-90 amps...ill post pics on here monday when i go back to school but...something ive been stuck on..i first noticed on my fill passes with 7018 is that when i strike my arc ahead of where im going to weld of coarse, when i come back and start to weld...the slag immediately wants to get in the way...the whole fill is perfect except the first 1/2" or so...so annoying...is there a fool proof way to fix this? i tried just speeding up a little to keep the slag behind me...but often when i do that its not filled in good...just seems like its way to cold idk..like i said ill have to post some pics on here so u can get a good idea of what im talking about...its frusterating because i know if i can get a nice smooth fill..my cap would be spot pretty much...maybe im too much of a perfectionist lol
