Found a pice of pipe 23x100mm that just wanted to be welded. This was in hlo45 (6g). With 7018 dcep. I run a 2mm rod in the root. And a hot pass with 2.5mm after this I run 14 passes with 3.2mm. Really good practice that will keep you entertained for a while.

Dang, that is one heavy chunk of pipe. And the saw that cut it is no slouch either.

Actually the surface of the welds look like wire brushed surface rust. Are you sure you did this yourself?

U are funny, I think it was me. It starts to rust quite fast when you clean it with alcohol, acid and hot water.
