Weave or stringer a root pass with 7018

I've done stringers all my life with 7018 for the root pass. What do you guys do for the root pass with 7018, stringers or weave beads?

Depends are we talking pipe, pressure vessel, or structure. ??

I’ve always tried to avoid excessive weaving on structural (or any) root passes. The only position I do any weaving (for the most part) is vertical up. On a heavy fill and cap vertical up weld, I will weave. Any other positions, I prefer stringers.
