Ok guys had my buddy bring his 1991 dodge 3/4 ton plow truck my to replace a front u-joint.
While we were working on it, I noticed some of the crappiest welds on some of the plow mounts.
S000000.... Long story short, I ground all the welds out and welded them up again.
Enjoy.
BTW, the welds look like a cold 6011 on rusty O/A cut rotten steel.

This piece I'm welding on is an extender to bring the plow out from under the truck farther.....
Nasty welds.
Amazing its held up this long.
Lots of cracks in these old plows, I just hit them with a grinder, a hot 8010 and done.

Welds coming soon....
As you know, welding is 90% prep, and 10% welding.
At least in my line of work.

Here's one of my vertical 7018 welds.
First pass was 5/32 8010 at 115amps.
Next I went uphill at 115amps with a 1/8 7018.
take it easy, I'm just a beginner.
