Ok,
Uphill filet, 1 1/2 wide flat bar, 5/8 thick.

Lincoln Invertec 200.

1/8 7018 "cold"at 130amps. :D

This weld is 1 1/8 wide.

That's a 3/8 nut sitting on the weld.

Guess that breaks the "3 rod rule. ;)

Texas is a long way from alaska. The rules have stretched on the trip. Its a fine weld that will probably never break in a month of sundays, but causes inspectors to have kittens. That said, i did an 1" thick test plate with flux core, weaved right across the front, and every one went home safe that night. Lolz

Time to break out the 1/4" 7018 electrode. Single pass weave is that wide

Biggest I've ran(or ever needed) is 3/16" 7018.....
1/4" 7018 is for 3/4" plate and up....
