I have been using a Mosa TS200 BS/EL welding generator. I was concerned that the welding current dial wasnt working, but after checking the resistances, it seems to work exactly the same as any other Mosa generator we have. You can set the current for the desired rod, and strike an arc, but after maybe 10 seconds of welding the welder seems to pick up, and the arc burns really strongly, as if the current has been turned up to maximum. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks very much,
stewart

I am assuming that since it is a welder generator that it has an engine of some sort. That being said, does the engine seem to work harder when the arc picks up? My thinking is that it is kicking from idle to running speed to keep up with the load. I have no experience with the brand or machine. A little more info might help.
It's always best to build your own, especially when it comes to hitches!!!
