so i have been welding for 3weeks now in school!! I'm doing Stick & Tig Pipe Welding course at Elite Welders Training & Testing in NJ, 12week all together to become a combination welder!!! so far i love it soo much it feels like this is something that i shud have been doing wen i left hs 10yrs ago... but once I'm done its gonna be hella fun and about welding the hell out of anything i touch...

so these pics out from my welds 3wks of class so far.. the first pic is from doing 7018 vertical up i got that in 2days of stick welding, and i did a couple of weaves!!!

the next pics are from my 7018 1/8 & 3/32 caps uphill sch 40 & 80, my teacher says i have the best caps in the class...

and i also stick weld with one hand which not to many welders can do, what my teacher tells me he said it can work in my favor sticking with one hand!!! but I'm just very happy that I'm doing something i really like... i just want to learn everything i can to be the best welder i can be out there and make great money doing it!!! I'm only 27 and i just wish somebody told me about this trade wen i left HS....

but tell me wut y'all think from my 3wks of stick welding...

I can't say much since I don't have very much stick experience and even less pipe experience. But to me they look good overall, just watch your restarts, and overall height of your finished welds.

Hey, if that's three weeks in, you're a natural, or your teacher is a pro, or both.

I can't wait to see week eight.

@SteveS yea my teacher is probably one of the top welders on the east coast and he's been retired for 15yrs, but yes he's a pro... and thats wit he's making me into in 12wks... the hardest thing so far has been the 6010 root uphill on pipe!!!

You obviously have a great natural ability there. Keep up the good work.

I also admire your enthusiasm. Occasionally things won't go right, if that happens don't let that put you off (!)

Nice job

Is that Esab rod? It looks like it in the picture. I personally hate that rod, but I've seen some guys do real well with it. You don't look like your doing bad at all. Looks good to me. There are a couple spots that someone could probably nit pick, but not me man. Good work
