this soot looking stuff, is it caused by flowrate too high or travel speed too slow or just too much heat? what can you tell me about this weld please. I believe it was welded with 110 Amps at nearly full pedal the whole run also

jbwelds, the weld looks very good, however the color suggest not sufficient gas coverage.

Let us know what your using for your collet body, cup size, and your flow rate

3/32 blue tungsten
#7 gas lens
1/16 308 filler
I thought the flowrate was about 15cfh but come to think of it I didn't check. I know someone else used the welder prior to me welding this and that may have been changed. Good Idea to always check that as well.
I didn't think about it not having enough gas. good point thanks!
