His first time to tig weld cast aluminum. I like Brian, he does things most wouldn't try, and loves LARGE machines.
The lathe behind him weighs 30 tons!

Geez, that guy is a hoot. Wondered how long it would take him to realize he wanted to climb it... I pictured that horizontal mill yanking that pan out of the vise and flinging it across his shop, taking out his camera and putting a hole in the window :D

He shuold have just bolted it down to a plate while welding. Would have saved him heaps of time facing the flange. And OA braze it, not TIG. Less distortion, more filler to wad into those gaps. But, he did save it and get it done, so hat’s off to him!

What the Ef?! :o Was there any doubt at the outset of that video, that the catastrophe was preordained? He needs some schoolin’ nd a proper education on rigging/safety. Would have killed anyone within a 1’ of that thing. The rear casting would have driven someone’s head straight out their rectum, no stop.
