anyone have the expansion card? I am wondering if anyone has heard of a place where you could get one to try? At ~$500 I would want to know if its going to help before I purchase it. I don't need it but I am thinking of getting one to try a theory. I want to experiment with bump welding using some of the settings it makes available.
Miller Dynasty 280 DX, Lincoln 210 MP, More tools than I have boxes for and a really messy shop.
I think in the past here I said I have it in mine, but the more I think about it, I'm not completely sure. After I read your post I thought back (been a while since I bought mine) that I seem to recall a conversation with one of the guys at Miller and came to the conclusion it wasn't necessary for what I do. "A mind is a terrible thing to waste!" 
I just can't remember. I know I've done the firmware update via USB and I simply don't remember back. If you mention the features it adds, I'll probably know right off because I've spent some time in the menus and tried a lot of stuff with it, but again, just can't recall.
Give the guys at Miller a call and explain what your theory is. In my experience calling in, they'll know the answers if you actually know the questions. They've got some pretty sharp people there who know the machines inside and out.
