I have a 300cf argon for my main tank and a 150 for a backup.
The other day my 300 was very low so before I got started
I switched my flow meter over to my full 150.
Attempted to weld some 6061 and nothing I done would
produce a clean weld.

I put a fresh gas lens, cup, tungsten and collet on my torch
cleaned my filler rod and my work.

It would get a nice clean puddle and when I would add filler
the puddle would get contaminated.

I pulled my hair out for hours trying to figure it out.
I left the shop that afternoon and on the way home
I told myself the gas is the only thing that was different
from the last time I welded aluminum.

The next day I put the meter back on my nearly empty 300
and every thing was back to normal.

So if your having trouble like this it mite be your gas.
