I am new to Tig and Mig and haven't even laid a bead yet, as I am still waiting for my welder to arrive.

I bought a tank of 75/25 Argon/CO2 for the Mig and was about to get tank of 100% Argon for the Tig, but then read that some prefer 50/50 Argon/He.

I will be primarily welding steel and stainless and not aluminium until I get a spool gun.

What gas or gas mix do you guys like for Tig on steel and stainless?
Thanks

Jody just put out a new video about helium for TIG. When you see what helium costs, your gonna pucker. Like zank said, argon is all you need....for at least 99% of your needs anyway. Show us how your doing when you get your machine.
