At some point I intend to purchase a remote amperage control. Maybe I'm stressing over it too much but I want to get it right the first time and not buy a control that drives me bonkers. Right now the CK Worldwide rotary control looks to be the most versatile and might have good finesse (as much as possible with a remot amperage control anyway) but I have never welded with any control and have no way of knowing either way. Has anyone tried this model and compared it to other styles and have an opinion? Also, would there perhaps be a reason to have several styles assuming I ended up using them often?
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
While I don't have experience with the CK brand, I prefer a rotary control for an on-the-torch remote. It requires very little hand movement versus a slide-type control. It takes a little getting used too, however. The slide control is more intuititive for power level, as you can always feel where the slide is at. It sometimes seems I lose track of my power level on a rotary, because the dial is always in the same location.
If you do much bench work, a foot control is really easy to get used to. If you work in the field, Miller now makes a wireless remote foot pedal. Now if they'd just make a wireless torch-mount control, I'd buy it in a heartbeat, rotary or slide.
