Fair enough. Same as the facebook group, we do't need to keep trouble around.

Nice Anders. Apparently you have too much money because you spend all your time traveling the globe instead of welding. Doesn't look like you got rusty in your time off 8-)

I nave been doing some more playing with back purging and am very impressed with the difference it makes. The weld on the right was done with purging the left without. The weld just ran better and was much easier to control, the big difference is the back side.

Well they say a picture tells a thousand words, seems they're right.
Great side by side comparison.

whats most impressive is how constant the welds are from piece to piece.

just some ugly black steel ducts...

been actually enjoying doing some really long welds using silicon bronze filler on uncleaned hot roll sheets, compared to the usual super nice stainless stuff I usually work with.... making some duct work for a customer. Am trying to do some nice stacked dime beads, but maybe it's just me, but it's kinda hard to keep the butter-soft filler to keep in a straight line... of course i still suck, but practice practice practice right? of course my boss keeps reminding me that no one is gonna see it, just make sure it's a good no-leak weld... (of course like an idiot I took off my long sleeve shirt at one point and down to a tshirt and managed to give myself a bit of 'sunburn' on my right arm... put that shirt right back on, i'm not used to doing such long welds)

If you look at the pic showing the full system, the collector is there I have a V band clamp.
