I disagree with that. I frequently meter my filler addition (plus or minus) by controlling the quickness/slightness of my dabs coupled with throttling the amperage just a bit as I am dabbing. You can add less.

I usually use a slightly larger fill than you might think, several reasons. I rarely work on stuff that’s got to be picture perfect. Thicker filler allows me to work with uneven gaps( IE poor fit) mostly out of necessity of time or repairing old or nasty. With some odd positions. But if things do need to be picture worthy, then I make sure to be well practiced and have my filler size dialed in.

hey Josh, a barley pop helps my hands calm down and IF I didn't have gap rod, I'd be lost. And now, thanks to an old friend, I have inherited some telephone poles for misfits.
