Welding Tips and Tricks

Can anyone suggest a source(s) for steel or aluminum gussets? I want to learn TIG welding with my new Miller Dimension and I'm thinking that gussets in the corners of square tubing or round tubing would give the structure more strength.
Any help appreciated. I'm a novice welder.

A cheap alternative would be to fab triangles out of flat plate for coupons.
