Hi guys/girls
Haven't been on here for a while.
I bought a combination welder last year and have been using the "mig" and "mma" a lot.
Bought argon gas and set up the Tig today to teach myself Tig.
Cleaned the metal as best as I can and even wiped it down.
When I initiate the arc (HF) there are barely any arc. If I keep the "small" arc going for 15 - 20 sec the metal does not even warm up with the small arc.
Welder: http://www.expondo.co.uk/stamos-power-2 ... 131-?c=417
Torch: WP-26
Tungsten: 2% Lanthanated grind to a needle point
2mm steel(5/64)
V: 18-24 (tried all in between)
A: 90-219 (tried all in between)
Argon: 5 L/M (11cfh)
If need be I can video the arc initiation for a better understanding.
Please any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a foot pedal, or just a torch switch? How are you grinding your tungsten? Are you sure you have a good ground?

Switch on the torch. I used a new grinding wheel on my grinder.Even tried the arc directly on the ground clamp with the same results.
