I've been DC tacking aluminum now for close to 15 year now with A75. I thought if you could weld aluminum you knew this trick. But apparently my night guys have never seen it and are questioning my methods. Every site I've been on says it's the preferred way to tack. Is there anything in AWS D1.1 that pertains to this process?

What gas are you using to DC Tig Al? Even if only tack welds, I thought you needed Helium in the mix for any success.
