I just ordered some ER70S2 and S6 in .040 from a vendor on amazon. Shipping was quick, but they packaged both in the same box and didn’t label the two bundles! Any easy way to tell which is which? It doesn’t look like they have stamping on the ends like my 1/6 rods do.

If its Tig wire:

You could try to do an open root or full penetration test. The s6 *might* look smoother on the exposed side compared to the s2 (credit Jody).

I've never been able to tell, they both weld the same to me haha. good luck

I thought it was the S2 that looked cleaner in that one video that Jody did?

dgapilot, you should send a message to the sender. I bet you can get it either heavily discounted or refunded due to them not being labeled. Tell them you need them for coded work! lol

I order small diameter wire from weldingsupplies.com. Every bundle is tagged and labeled, even if the rods themselves have the stamp.
