I had a go today on a heavily rusty aluminum cooler it had a hole in it sorry that there is no photo.
I thought that the procedure might be helpful to some so i describe it .Clean well since i did not know how many amperage it will need so i started slow 25 amperes.I made the frost zone around hole so i will check if the corrosion is still present in the edges. After a bit i used a little brushing i increased to 40 and i used si12 or 4047 which is soft.frequency first was 80Hz the lowered to 60 better and i finish it to 50 amperes.Short stops to grind the tungsten since it has a lot to do with focus when
the tungsten is fresh.I had immediate start and stop no delays since the whole procedure is very delicate and precise and it can turn to disaster easily to avoid explosive starting the tungsten should be very very close to base metal ...
