Noob on tungsten, filler and gas

So I picked up a everlast 161sth for my home repairs and projects. I’ve been able to get by with using the stick side of things until this weekend when I had to do a repair on some thin steel. I ended up brazing it, which will hold without a doubt.

I would like get my tig side fired up. I need tungsten, filler and gas. What do you guys recommend for starters?

I was thinking 2% lanthinated in 1/16 or 3/32 diameter.

Some er70s6 in 3/32
And a 125 cuft of argon.

Does this sound about right?

2%La works great. Unless you're doing edge welds, you dont need 1/16" tungsten, and you can keep 1 or 2 3/32" tungstens sharpened to a long taper/needle point if need be.

As for filler rod, 045 and 1/16" will be more useful for you. Save 3/32" filler rod for those welding up 1/4"+ plate. With your available amperage, 1/16" is more than plenty.
