Hello All
New to the site but I have been stick and MIG welding for many year. Recently bought a spool gun (Lincoln magnum pro 100sg) to add to to my Lincoln 180HD 220v Weld-Pak. No matter what I try I can't get it to lay down a good weld, just lays on top and will not penetrate. I've gotten a fresh bottle of argon and played with the wire speed and power settings but no good. if anyone has some advise that would be great.
thanks

Likely underpowered welder for what you're trying to weld, but you really haven't told us much.
To be sure, please list everything (some may not be applicable):
Machine: Lincoln magnum pro 100sg) to add to to my Lincoln 180HD 220v Weld-Pak
Tension:
Wire & Wire Diameter:
Wirefeed Speed:
Voltage:
Pre-Flow Time:
Post-Flow Time:
Start Speed:
Start Time:
Burn back:
Pinch:
Downslope timer:
Nozzle Type:
Contact Tip:
Contact Tip to Work Distance:
Shielding Gas: Argon
Shielding Gas flow rate:
Wire electrode angle & (push or pull):
Base metal & alloy:
Joint configuration:
Also please don't say "all wirefeeds" and/or "all voltages". All welding attempts are discrete events with individual parameters for that event, so there is only 1 WFS and 1 voltage for each attempt.
Pictures also help greatly

as above the more info the better.
real common thing for aluminium is people really underestimate the amount of amps required.
big thing is what thickness material are you trying to weld?
what size wire?

Yup, a lot of people just randomly set the machine to something weird like 120 IPM and 18V. That's like 45A/900W of power.
