Hello, looking for some advice from expert welder. I'm welding TIG position PC for exray exam. I am using gap the same size as filler rods ( trying all sizes with no luck)

The problem I'm expirensing is that I'm getting to high and round top of weld bead and other side is not filling out past the edge of the plates.

I'm welding steel, using argon and Kemppi Master TIG.

Can anyone help me out!!!)))

Thank,

Blake

I've been following this one ....
Looks like Josh knew what was being questioned...just keeping it under his hat.
Even tho Bart explained it, I had to look it up to SEE what it was.
Now the fix ....

In the other thread he said it's 2mm thick material and he's running 60A. That's roughly 14ga or .080" thick material, so it sounds like simply not enough amperage.

the whole deal is going to be a balancing act for you to get the proper final weld. As far as your other post about ending the weld,,,with the thin material, you probably want to carry some extra filler material from back a few dabs of filler and I swirl the end, BUT again, you won't have a lot of time due to thickness at the end of the material. PRACTICE and like everything else, , , it's what works for YOU.
