Hi, I'm looking for advice of how to end tig welding bead on steel. At the moment I'm moving to side edge of bead quite fast and waiting for down slope and gass covaridge. Is this the best practices? Blake
Better to start the downslope (depending upon how long it is set for) just as you reach the end, then swirl the torch. This prevents fish-eyes being left in the bead.
Or, you can literally leave the filler in the puddle, snap out. Then wiggle the filler to break off. All depends upon what is "permitted" with your application.
