Hello to all i am looking for some help? i have a Miller Aerowave couple of days ago while welding aluminum, pressed pedal down (wireless remote) start welding in about 10 or 20 seconds it just cut of lifted pedal up pressed down and welding starts again, another 20 seconds or so and same thing cuts out, let the pedal up press back down welding again for another 20 or 30 seconds, never had a problem with this machine and i am a long way from any service center, i switched it from ac to electrode negative dose the same thing, i then set for welding with no foot pedal dose same so it is not foot pedal related, has anyone had an experienced like this with there Miller and if so what was the culprit, or anyone have a good thought on what to look for, any thoughts or help would be very much appreciated
Thanks to all, Wayne.

If I’m not mistaken, that’s a fairly “older” machine, transformer-based. If so, pull out the Service Manual and you might locate a section referring to the “contact points” (much like older car ignitions). Those points become dirty and scabbed up, and do need occasional adjusting for the proper gap. Gentle sanding of them with emery so they’re bright and shiny, then adjust with feeler gauges.

You might also check the internal Ground leads as they loosen over time and usage.

Otherwise, off to the Service Center I’d be going.

It could also be worth looking through these links ; https://www.google.com/search?gws_rd=cr ... TIG+welder , especially the first AWS one.
