stainless pulse settings

i am doing a few 304/316 bits at the mo.
mostly 1.6mm wall tube. my new welder has a lot more adjustment for pulse which is taking a bit to get my head around.
my old one i used a high pulse setting (no idea what it is) which made it easier to control amps.
i tried the 1.4pps/hz, 85 amps max, 20 amps base, 45% duty (on time). that ended up like a bunch of tacks. maybe travel speed was to high?
i've been running 100pps/hz, 100 amps max, 45 amps base, 45% duty. that works well, nice focus, narrower bead but lacking in penetration.
unfortunately run out of gas before i could try higher amps.
doesn't help we are in lockdown at the mo, so not sure if i can get more gas any time soon.
