I've never priced stand-alones, but,

If you consider the time, effort, parts, and materials to achieve the same thing, it doesn't sound like a bad deal at all.

That said, I know nothing about the cooling capacity of the unit. Our 250DXs have a 2-row radiator, about 10x12 inches and a 2.5 gallon reservoir.

I had to weld at 280+ on HFAC for over an hour continuous to fry a torch.
