Has anyone successfully tiged a patch onto on a babbitt bearing. Witch has been sprayed with a Metco 5K or a 11E.

welcome to the forum. Curious. is this an engine crankshaft bearing? Why patch and not replace?

I would imagine its a large (like huge) babbit bearing, I.e. poured/cast and machined in place. That would have to be my guess, and the only situation where it would be feasible to even attempt to weld it. I've never heard of someone 'patching' a bearing though :/

Well the job in question was missing a little on the edge. The bearing had over 250 lbs in babbitt.
