Welding Tips and Tricks

Is there a specific tungsten that should be used on mild steel? Or is it just kind of a user preference type deal?

This is why I love this forum everybody's friendly and will help you out me only having 2 years welding experience but want to make a career out of it later in life I have a lot of questions and everyone always helps

Truly is a great forum.
They even respect guys with 4yrs experience, like me.
Don't know why though.

Anyway,
Mainly DC tungsten choice differs with machines.
Some like thoriated, some like ceriated, others lanthinated.
My miller Maxstar 200, liked ceriated, and my SW175 liked lanthinated.

Just your preference.
