Hi,

had a look at your posted link and although very interesting i would have to say it's not a new process. By their own admission they claim it to be a modified Tig process, this i would agree with. It seems they have taken a standard Tig set up and grafted on the wire feed side of a mig welder, a clever idea i will grant you. It look's like fun and i would love to try one out, looking at the video it seem's that you have to move the torch in a circular motion to stir the weld whilst forming it.

Regards,

Gerry

Hi Gerry
More information about TIP TIG.
The TIP TIG wire entering the TIG weld pool is mechanically superimposed with an action from the unique wire feeder that creates a dynamic motion on the weld wire. The TIP TIG wire motion agitates the weld pool generating a kinematic energy into the TIG weld puddle. The weld pool agitation changes the weld surface tension and weld solidification allowing for delivery of higher than normal TIG wire feed rates which enable higher current. The higher TIP TIG weld current combined with the Hot Wire current and agitated welds provide many weld benefits never before attained by manual TIG welders.

TIP TIG is also readily adapted to any weld automation and in contrast to Hot Wire TIG, the TIP TIG process enables higher automated wire feed rates with much less weld issues. As a manual weld process, TIP TIG like the MIG process is a "semi-automated" weld process that allows the welder to provide controlled wire feed rates and to use either one or two hands on the torch.
TIP TIG ensures the best welding quality at mig welding speeds.
