I have had mine for a year now and love it. It works great for TIG and stick. A friend of mine has one as well and he really likes it. He has used his pretty hard and no problems.

is there a big learning curve?
i have a syncrowave 250 and it very easy
to set up and works great. moving out of
state soon and new shop is smaller so 40lbs
and smaller physical size is appealing.
thanks for your imput.

Not a big learning curve. The manual is good and easy to follow. You can download it from their website and have a look.
There are lots of settings, so if I haven't used a feature for awhile, I often find myself having a quick look at the manual. You can also store welding programs, so once you get the settings just right for something, you can easily recall them. The stored programs are just numbered, so if you use this feature you will need to keep a list of them.
The only other TIG machine I have used/owned is a Miller Diversion. I don't have a lot to compare it to, but it seems to weld nice.
I hope this helps...

Very Simple to operate. It has lots of things to adjust, but overall it is very easy to get to them. I can easily set anything and everything in about 15 seconds and that's if I need to go into the pulse settings or into the AC amplitude adjustment settings.

I think it stick welds very well and seems very smooth, but then again, I don't have much to compare it to.
I have the water cooled version. The cooler is a bit loud, but it works well and I'm glad I have it.
