your mentioned 24 gauge to 10 ss
presumably to 10 gauge (0.128")
If so, that's a big change in sizes.
Like has been mentioned, what sort of joint? Lap/butt might be challenging. Corner fillet will allow you better control of the heat direction, but little more info can assist.
