Got to give a quite thorough demo on the new PM210MP that has been the rave for the last few months.
Seems to be a sturdy built unit, solid case and handle.
40lbs, so plenty portable.
Got to burn a bunch of 7018 with it, filling up a 3g 1" plate.
Note, this machine will not keep a 6010 lit to save it's life.
Not even in 60xx mode with the arc force cranked up.
7018 is silky smooth.
Not to shabby.
That 3g there passed the side bends.
Next is a little mig.
Gun has a nice fit, seems well built. Same with the wire drive system.
Here's some vertical up.
I found It welded the nicest with .030 mig and c25, with the inductance set at zero.
Then we got the tig set-up....
25' 17v, ancient torch.
Lift arc was smooth, (No pedal) and a stable arc.
No pics of any tig welds, I'll try and get some next week.
That last pic is not me.
All in all, I say Lincoln did pretty good with this machine.
It's a very affordable machine for the hobbiest/backyard-weldor/farmer/handyman/weekend warrior.
You have all process's in one package. You could mig weld aluminum quite easily with the $225 dollar lincoln spoolgun you can buy extra.
Run in/hot start, and adjustable inductance would make aluminum mig much more enjoyable.
Would I buy one?
Depends. I was planning on buying one, and sold all my other shop welders to make room.....
I currently have only one welding machine in my possession. My Lincoln ranger 8 engine drive.
At the last minute, I changed my mind.
I'm ordering the Tweco 211i.
It has 12" spool capacity.
I'll be needing that.
If anyone has any questions on the Lincoln, I'll be happy to answer them.
Have a nice night, my welding brothers....

John,
Thanks for the review! My LWS will FINALLY be getting one in soon. I have asked and asked about getting one in for demo but they were late to the party. If one of the jobs I'm bidding on comes together I would like to add one of these to my collection. It looks like the machine works well in the hands of an experienced welder for sure.

Well,
About 3 weeks ago, I got to do a decent amount of tig with this machine, on some scrap metal.....
I haven't tigged a while, and I never was very good at it.
First weld is a single pass filet on 1/4"....(Note) The chicken crap on the top is NOT mine.
Second and 3rd pic is walking the cup in this filet on 3/8" plate. 175amps( The max tig output amps).
3/32" 308 filler....

BTW, in case anyone cares, I got to use these two fancy AD helmets extensively in the last few months.
Lincoln Viking 3350, and Miller Digital elite.
I used them for mig (hard wire), flux core (duelshield), stick (6010/7018), and Tig.
Nothing to write home about.
I wouldn't buy one, or reccomend.
Just yellow/green tints. Poor clarity....
Just my opinion, and a very un-qualified one at that.

All I care about is facts.
The fact is that a 12" 33 or 44lb spool will fit in the Tweco fabricator 211i.
I don't see how you can deny this.

what else would I expect from the wilderness drama queen?
junior, I understand you are young and probably left high school before finishing. however, if you take a look at the two links I provided and read through them, you will discover that there is literature out there that states a different set of facts.
facts, don't make me laugh; at one time I prepared briefs for the trier of fact.
PS would you like me, for the amusement of the reader, to resurrect a couple of your juvenile rantings posted on the everlast board? lol

Fight night.... I'd say forget the literature, the picture settles it. Unless there is a different model for the same machine.
Perhaps the larger spool will fit, but TWECO does not recommend using it? I'm thinking the drive motor may not like the heavier weight. Maybe both are correct?
If you take a close look at the 252i, it looks about the same size (I don't have the manuals in front of me). Could they have used the same chassis but used a smaller drive system for the 211i? If that's the case, a 33 or 44 would fit but may not be best to use.
Just thinking of a way to keep this from getting ugly (even though the insults have begun)...

First off, if Tweco has determined that 12" spools put too much load on the drive system, or are otherwise harmful to the machine, I did not know about it.
I just have seen plenty of literature supporting a 12" spool, and put my hands on several and seen first hand that they would fit.
I also see plenty of websites are still saying 12".....
Including Tweco's website.

I own those two helmets and have some trouble with seeing. I used a buddy's speedglass the other day. Don't know the model but the clarity was awesome. Speedglas is king. Everything else is made by companies that specialise in something else, Lincoln, Miller. The speedglas brand, (now owned by 3m was r And D'd by hornell, and that was their sole goal.

I've been wanting to try a speedglas.
I have a jackson Boss at the moment, and I've only used it for stick. So far I like it.

I believe we should put this topic back on track.
I finally got my hands on a 210MP at the LWS but have not struck a arc as of yet. I look forward to playing with this machine.

I really don't get it, guys.
I call a guy out for spreading false information in MY thread, 3 times showing conclusive evidence to support my claims.
He gets his all slanderous and degrading knowing that he's been proven wrong.
I can't even speak the truth without being insulted.
Oh well.
