Hello all. I'm new to welding and jumping all in. I have a question that I do not have an answer for.
I have the Hobart Handler 140 and there are no settings on the chart for 14ga and 12ga.
I am using .030 and .035 flux wire and really want to have the settings right or at least some place to start.
Also, when welding 3/16th to 14ga what settings should I use?
Thanks for any help!
mig and flux core tips and techniques, equipment, filler metal
For 14 gauge I usually use the settings for 16 gauge because it runs fairly hot. For 3/16" run on the highest chart setting for the wire size. For 12 gauge run the settings for 1/8". On 14 gauge you will want to jump around and do short beads. It will be too hot and distort too much if you just weld it all in one run.
It's always best to build your own, especially when it comes to hitches!!!
