Is there a gas that will work with short circuit, and spray on carbon steel, and short or spray on stainless. And then throw hardsurfacing alloys. The place I work at, has a MM 252 running C25 and does all previously mentioned, minus the spray. Is there a gas that will cover all processes? I’m thinking 98%Ar 2%Ox will work ok for stainless and spray carbon but I don’t know about hardsurfacing or short circuit.

That would be called stick welding in open air.

Might I suggest you become conversant with the work of Ed Craig. His site is called Weld Reality.

Ive been thinking on rolling over to Praxair's Stargon 90% argon, 8% C02, 2% O2 over C25 so i can do spray when i need to.

it dose good for spray and also dose good for short arc, I think it gose into spray at a lower amperage then C10 but im not 100%..

I think 95 / 5 will do it too.
I have more questions than answers
