Welding Tips and Tricks

Hi,

I'm new to welding and trying to something approximating a weld bead on a T-joint.

I made some experimental welds and cut and etched them but I'm not sure what I'm looking for.

To me it looks like good penetration but what do I know.

I'd love some feedback on them.
