Aluminum welding troubles with bobcat/spoolgun

howdy!
Putting to use my "new" toy, a WC-115A and 30A spoolgun and running it off a bobcat 250. Putting together some lead holders out of some clean scrap I had laying around (just to get to know her a bit better) then run into trouble.
Trouble, is that on 1/4" 2" sq tube, one pass will look like I put it down with a butter knife, then right next to it it looks like the muddawbers got to it. no variance in speed, position or heat. Is there anything else I should be looking at? I am running 25cfh 100%argon, since it is a spoolgun.
Thanks in advance!

Always push with a pretty steep angle on any aluminum mig. If your straight in or dragging, its gonna pile up and turn black.

maybe you're right, just needed more angle (or cowbell!lol)-I thought it was good enough, but I know I can see myself at a certain point, and be nowhere near where I need to be-thanks for the help!
